Author description

Lewis Carroll's ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND and THROUGH THE LOOKING-GLASS have delighted and entranced children for more than a hundred years. Lewis Carroll was the pseudonym of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who was born in 1832 and died in 1898. He studied at Christ Church College, Oxford and, after graduation, became a mathematics teacher. Having taken holy orders in 1861, he became Reverend Charles Dodgson. Although he wrote a wide range of books, including many on the subject of mathematics, it is Alice for whom he is most remembered. She continues to enchant adults and children alike.
